650.00 USD Nautilus DMC II-B — Tyndall Electronics Stone Ridge

To make a very long story short, Jerry Tyndall and I were close friends after I started using my first Nautilus in 1979, an LF Relic King. I helped him over the years with feedback in the form of field data, opinions and later on I designed the logo and control box artwork for the unique DMC (Dual Mode Circuit) series motion discriminators. In 1994 Jerry honored me with this finalized custom model of the II-B. It has special features such as Search Loop Balance and variable Transmit Power. SLB electrically compensates for shifts in coil architecture due to radical temperature changes such as going from a warm car into a frigid hunt environment. This detector also has a ten-turn threshold control, an onboard charging circuit for 9V rechargeables, and it was made as a hipmount configuration with D-Rings and re-tuning (red button) mounted on the control box specifically for me. It has two concentrically wound "LQ" searchcoils, 8 and 10-1/2" which Jerry said were tuned to be as "hot" as practical. Jerry used nothing but the best components like sealed Allen Bradley potentiometers and because of this, this detector still functions 22 years later.
The detector comes with a charge adapter, extra lower stems, and two upper stem/handles for quick coil changes. It specifically was made for me and the way I hunted back then. There is a hand-etched message from Jerry to me on the bottom of the detector. I also helped Jerry write the instruction manual for the DMC II-B, but I cannot find a printed version in my files any longer. It probably exists on the internet somewhere I'm sure.
My dear friend is no longer with us, but Jerry Tyndall's knowledge and skill will continue to live on in the high performance detectors he created. Unfortunately at my current age, I'm no longer comfortable using hipmounted detectors of any kind and this detector has sat in storage too long not being used. While I hate parting with this special detector, I don't like knowing it is not finding history in someone's hands while it still has life. Don't let the age of the detector form your opinion of the performance. There are relic hunters today who will use nothing else, unfortunately there are very few originals left.
